Tayrona National Park, Colombia

Ride Horses Through The Jungle
Adventure seekers looking for a little slice of heaven should consider a visit to Tayrona National Park on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. This beautiful national park is home to Caribbean beaches, Amazon style jungle and you can even see a snowy mountain peak from the beach.

Camping facilities are available as are low budget hammock rentals but if you would like to explore the area yet stay in style, checkout the Eco-Habs. The Eco-Habs are as luxurious as it gets in this part of Colombia. The bungalows are spread out over a lush hillside and have epic oceanviews. From your comfy accommodations, you can launch daily explorations through the jungle where you will see all kinds or neat little creatures or head out for a day of swimming and sunbathing at the Eco-Habs beach.

There are numerous hikes and horses can be hired to travel the trails. The horse riding through the jungle is no cake walk, you should have some skill as you and your horse will travel up gorges, ravines and tight paths. Even so, the horse riding was by far my favorite way to explore this region...and it was so cheap. Guides travel with you, they did not speak English but did manage to point our creatures along the ways.

I don't want to forget the food, the food is awesome. Nothing fancy but really fresh. Fish caught daily, local produce served in various preparations with coconut rice. The passion fruit ceviche is to die for and combined with a mojito...seriously unforgettable.
