The Cotopaxi Volcano is known as a perfectly shaped inverted cone volcano. Mountain climbers have access to the peak were year round. Those climbing Cotopaxi will find a lodge half way up the ascent. The lodge has basic accommodations, you must bring you own sleeping bag and pay a small fee. While you can climb the mountain year round, the preferred months are January, July, August and December.
