Tapati Rapa Nui Festival 2014

The Tapati Rapa Nui Festival takes place the first ten days of February. The Tapati Festival on Easter Island is a mix of activities celebrating the culture and traditions of Rapa Nui. Residents and tourists are encourage to join in the festivities and help determine the Queen of the Festival.

Most of the competitions take place in Hanga "Vere Vere" near the town of Hanga Roa. Participants learn about navigation and can have their body painted, join in the sing, be merry and dine on local dishes and explore the islands arts and craft.
